Ferrosilicon

Ferrosilicon

Caspian Steel is sourcing and exporting wide range of Ferrosilicon from Iranian master alloy producers. Depending on client’s requirements on element percentage in specification and technical terms, we negotiate with mill to fulfil the customers’ requirements.

Product description

Ferrosilicon (FeSi) is an alloy of iron and silicon with a very variable silicon content between 10 % and 90 % which is being used widely in steel and cast-Iron production process. In physical and solid presentation, it is silver. The melting temperature is 1290-1390° C. It is shattered and non-flammable. There is no self – immolation and transportation should be carried out on the basis of the rules of chemical handling.

Product application

It is used as a so-called master alloy in steel production, which is added in small amounts in order to adjust the properties of the melt, the cooling process and the finished product. In the steel industry, Ferrosilicon is used as a deoxidize element in steel. In the manufacture of cast iron, ferrosilicon is used for immunization of the iron to hurry graphitization one of the raw materials for the production of magnesium ingots and some ferroalloys such as Magnesium and Ferrosilicon magnesium.

Product producers

Caspian steel is in contact with all well-known mills and with considering the final destination manage and do negotiation with proper mill to close the deal.
